Joseph Price and Karen
Gregg Price started Reaching
Peak LLC in 2006 to provide personal growth and inspirational
resources (www.ReachingPeak.com). Joseph
Price is a life coach and has been in the personal development
industry over 10 years. Both authors plan to use the book
as a platform for public education and to provide inspirational
help to others to achieve their goals. The book specifically
tells teenagers to consider not ever starting to drink alcohol.
"I got up at 4:30 every morning to write this book--
1,000 words per day-- before my 1-year-old daughter would
wake up. After getting her ready for daycare I would go to
my full time job," says Price. "Now, I spend a lot
of time early in the morning working on our own web marketing
before I go to work where I do web marketing for a software
company. I hope that alone inspires people to reach their
goals!"
Price was a product manager at Fortune 500 companies during
her difficult struggle, and as a result lost her employment
and suffered financial losses to the point of being broke.
A software marketing professional with an M.B.A., Price has
finally regained her career status and her life after years
of struggling from 2003 to 2006.
“For 33 years I was a nice person and a great employee
before I got into trouble with alcoholism. It hurts me to
think back about how I was treated at work,” says Price.
“Just five years later, here I am, able to turn that
experience around with the book, and to encourage managers
to help people in need of medical assistance. I’m asking
people to have compassion and give an employee a chance to
get help; give them time to get assistance and to be a productive
employee again. I hope to start a not-for-profit to educate
and help.”

“Karen,
I had fond memories about you. You were always very helpful,
caring and warm. I do recall memories that you were a little
off; I didn’t know that was due to alcoholism. You must
have hidden it so well from me. I admire your courage in writing
a book about this, and I am happy that you have started a great
life.”
